The Benevolent Foundation was founded in 1989 to establish a fund for management of extra gifts to the church. There are three scholarships under this foundation.
- The Lena Bangle Lyerly Memorial Scholarship. Established to aid an active member of Christiana to pursue a career in health or Christian education. The applicant should be enrolled or accepted in a two or four year college or university program. Community and school involvement, as well as financial need will be considered in awarding this scholarship.
- The Brad Michael Patrick Memorial Scholarship. Applicants must reside in Rowan County and have a financial need to further their education. Church, community and school involvement are also considered in awarding this scholarship of $1,000 annually.
- The Hubert and Blanche Ritchie Scholarship of $1,000 annually is open to all Christiana seniors, who plan to further their education past high school. In order to apply for this scholarship, seniors submit an application that includes a list of service to school, church and community. They are also required to submit a one-page essay on what gifts they believe God has given them and how they plan to use these gifts.
